CardTable

Support

Quick answers for getting a table going. Still stuck? Email us at the bottom.

Getting started

  1. Install CardTable and sign in to Game Center when asked. There is no other account to make.
  2. Tap Open a table, choose a deck, and set teams and permissions if you want them.
  3. Share the 6-character code (like K7Q-42M) with up to three friends.
  4. Deal, flip, stack and pass. For Spades, Bid Whist, Hearts or Tonk you can turn on “play by the rules”.

Joining with a code

My friend’s code doesn’t work

Check each character: codes use letters and numbers, no spaces. Make sure the host still has the table open and that it isn’t full (4 players) or locked. Ask the host to check the locks in host controls.

I can’t sign in to Game Center

Open Settings, sign in to Game Center, and check that multiplayer games are allowed under Screen Time › Content & Privacy Restrictions › Game Center.

It asks about the local network

Allow it. CardTable uses the local network to help devices find each other. If you declined, turn it back on in Settings › Privacy & Security › Local Network (or System Settings on Mac).

Voice troubleshooting

Nobody can hear me

Check the microphone permission: Settings › CardTable › Microphone (System Settings › Privacy & Security › Microphone on Mac). Then make sure you’ve joined voice at the table and aren’t muted.

How do I get Spatial Audio?

Use headphones that support Spatial Audio. Voices are then placed by seat. On speakers, voices play normally without placement.

Someone is too loud or too quiet

Set that player’s volume from their seat. It only changes what you hear.

I hear echo

Use headphones, or ask the player whose speakers are too loud to turn them down.

Reconnecting

I lost connection or the app closed

Open CardTable and tap Rejoin on the table. You return to your seat and your cards.

The host dropped

A backup host takes over so the game goes on. Wait a few seconds; you’ll be reconnected automatically.

Can I resume a table I hosted?

Yes, for up to 12 hours after the table was last open on your device. After that it is removed.
