Privacy Policy
Effective October 19, 2026
CardTable (App Store name “CardTable FreePlay”) is an open card table for up to four friends, made by Dream Tailors LLC (“we”). We built it so that your games stay between you and your friends. This policy explains what the app does with data. The short version: we don’t collect your personal information, and we don’t run a server that holds your games.
In short. No accounts beyond Game Center. No analytics, tracking or ads. No server. Voice is never recorded. Cards you may not see never reach your device.
1. Accounts and Game Center
CardTable doesn’t have its own accounts. You sign in with Apple’s Game Center, which identifies you to the other players at your table (for example by your Game Center display name). Game Center is provided by Apple and is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. We don’t receive your Apple Account details.
2. No analytics, tracking or ads
CardTable contains no analytics, no advertising and no third-party trackers. We don’t build a profile of you, and we don’t sell or share data, because we don’t collect it.
3. No server: tables run between your devices
We don’t operate a game server. A table runs peer to peer, over Game Center, between the players’ own devices. The host’s device holds the table and decides what each seat is allowed to see.
- Backup host. So the game can go on if the host drops, a backup host’s device may hold a sealed (encrypted) copy of the table. It only opens if the host drops.
- Hidden cards stay hidden. A device only receives the face of a card if that seat is allowed to see it. Cards you may not see never reach your device.
4. Voice chat
When you join voice at a table, audio goes directly between the players’ devices in real time. It is never recorded, stored by us or sent to us. CardTable uses your microphone only while you are in voice, and you can leave voice or mute at any time. Microphone access is controlled in your device’s Settings.
5. Chat and scoreboard
Table chat, reactions and the handwritten scoreboard (including Apple Pencil strokes) live only on the players’ devices for that table. They aren’t sent to us.
6. What is saved on your device
A table you host may be saved on your device for up to 12 hours so you can resume it if the app closes or you lose connection. After that it is removed. Your settings (such as sound and layout preferences) are stored on your device.
7. Permissions
- Microphone: only while you are in voice chat.
- Local network: used to help devices find and connect to each other. We don’t scan or store information about other devices on your network.
- Notifications: local only. Reminders such as your turn are scheduled on your device; we don’t use a push server to track you.
8. Children
CardTable relies on Game Center’s protections for younger players, including Apple’s parental controls and Game Center account rules for children. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, and the app has no ads or tracking. Parents can use Screen Time to limit multiplayer, voice and chat.
9. Other players
People you play with can see what you do at the table: your display name, your moves, your chat messages and your voice while you are in voice. Play with people you trust. We can’t control what other players do with what they see.
10. Support emails
If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply to you, and delete them when we no longer need them.
11. Changes
If we change this policy we’ll post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change affects how your data is handled, we’ll say so in the app.
